On February 25th, after an MRI, the hospital staff determined that Doug had suffered major brain damage and would not be able to make a meaningful, long-term recovery. Violet was faced with the unimaginable decision to remove life support, which is happening on February 28th, 2026. This loss is sudden and heartbreaking, leaving Violet to navigate not only her grief but also the unexpected and overwhelming aftermath.
