Dear Family and friends,
I have been working relentlessly to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout which is the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America. If I want to achieve this milestone, I am required to complete a service project that supports the community.
My community service project is constructing raised garden beds and a compost bin for Chesapeake Animal Services, CAS, my local community animal shelter. I chose this project because CAS let us foster kittens and they want to have planter beds to grow food for their rabbits and catnip for the cats. The compost bin can help the environment by reducing carbon emissions and will be used for the soil of the plants in the raised garden beds.
For this service project, I am required to raise funds to purchase materials, which will be around $700. All contributions will be used for the raised garden beds and a compost bin. Any funds left over will be donated to CAS to support spay and neuter efforts for stray animals. You may know me from Chesapeake Little League or Scouting, or maybe we’ve never met. I know money is tight at times, but I am asking that, if able, to make a contribution. It would mean the world to me to become an Eagle Scout. At the same time, this project allows me to serve the community.
Yours in Scouting,
