For generations, VFW Post 10004 in Jewett City has been more than just a building. It has been a home.

It's a place where veterans find camaraderie among people who understand. It's where families gather, neighbors celebrate, local organizations hold events, and our community comes together in times of both joy and hardship.

Like many Veterans Service Organizations across the country, VFW Posts are facing unprecedented financial challenges. Membership has steadily declined as the generations of World War II, Korea, and Vietnam veterans who built these organizations have grown older and passed on. Younger veterans often balance careers, families, and busy lives, making it harder for traditional organizations to maintain the membership they once had.

But the mission has never changed.

VFW Posts continue to support veterans and their families, provide a place of friendship and camaraderie, honor those who served through ceremonies and community events, offer scholarships, youth programs, and patriotic education, open their doors to local nonprofits, celebrations, fundraisers, and community gatherings, and be there when veterans or neighbors need help the most.

Unfortunately, despite countless volunteer hours and fundraising efforts, VFW Post 10004 is experiencing severe financial hardship. Without additional support, the future of our Post is uncertain.

We're asking our community, local businesses, veterans, families, and friends to help preserve something that means so much to so many.

Every donation-large or small-will go directly toward helping keep our doors open, paying operating expenses, maintaining our building, and ensuring that VFW Post 10004 can continue serving veterans and the Jewett City community for years to come.
