Running for Recovery, Swimming for Strength
Hi, I’m Kevin – a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, open-water swimmer, and graduate student currently pursuing my MBA with plans to earn my JD degree next. Alongside my partner Jane, I’ll be running the Marine Corps Marathon this October to raise awareness and support for Take the Rock, a veteran-led swim challenge that helps fellow veterans heal through camaraderie, community, and the power of open water.
The cold currents of the San Francisco Bay and the swim from Alcatraz
are physical tests representing resilience, recovery, and overcoming the invisible wounds of trauma. For me, swimming and running have become essential tools for mental wellness. Community-based physical challenges like Take the Rock have helped me stay grounded and connected.
Jane, a dedicated supporter of veterans and advocate for mental health, is running alongside me to help amplify this mission. Together, we believe in the power of movement, shared struggle, and veteran unity.
Your donation will go directly toward helping more veterans access the Take the Rock program, including swim gear, training support, safety logistics, and outreach efforts. Let’s help more veterans take the plunge – and come out stronger on the other side.
Thank you for your support.
