Support the Students of Verde K-8 this Holiday Season

I’m proud to once again sponsor the annual Holiday Fundraiser for Verde K-8 School in North Richmond. This year, our goal is to raise $6,000 to provide every student with a new book and a school sweater—gifts that foster a love of reading and a sense of school pride. As part of this year-end celebration, we’ll decorate the school and distribute these meaningful gifts.

Verde K-8 is the only school in North Richmond and serves as a cornerstone of the community. The students are bright, talented, and full of hope—but they face significant challenges. Every child at Verde qualifies for free or reduced lunch, underscoring the urgent need for resources and support.

I’ve had the honor of representing North Richmond on the Board of Supervisors for over 25 years. I’ve seen firsthand how vital Verde School is—not just as an educational institution, but as a hub for community connection and opportunity.
