Support Vehicles and Home for Missionaries in Thailand

Hi we are Kirsten, Stephanie, and Toto from YWAM Phitsanulok Thailand! YWAM (Youth With A Mission) is a Christian organization that focus on missionary work and training for missions.

In 2024 we stepped out in faith to run a DTS (discipleship training school) while YWAM Phitsanulok was going through a major reestablishment. The past leader had left Phitsanulok to start a new ministry in another province in Thailand.

Now our team is taking over the ministry here in Phitsanulok, picking up what was laid down and starting new. As we are walking through this process we have very little to work with (including some chairs and a table) and, have a lot that needs to be prepared before our next DTS (Discipleship Training School) starting in October 2025.

To fulfill our mission effectively we need a center for students and missionaries to live, work, and worship. Our desire for a center/base comes right from the vision we know God has called us to pursue here in Phitsanulok. We want to see every person encounter Christ and discover their identity and calling in Him. We aim to be a place where people will be trained, equipped, and released to carry out their calling and play their part in the Great Commission in Thailand and beyond.

Therefore, we recently stepped out in faith and signed a contract to rent a building that we will call our center/base. It is a four and a half story building that is a bit older so it needs work done and is completely empty. We need the things to fill that empty space and to do work on it to create a space that will be our training center.

Right now we are raising funds for a vehicle. As a team of 6 people we at the moment only have an open cab truck that does not have enough seats for all of us. We travel around Thailand visiting other ministries and some of these ministries are located in challenging and remote places around the mountains. Some of our ministries in past including providing aid to flood victims, food distributions to the refugee villages at the border, running youth camps and english camps, visiting young believers in the remote and mountainous area, and campus ministry.

To be able to get to these places we need a vehicle that can not only carry all of us but be able to handle the difficult terrain. We are looking for a 7 seater SUV that will provide for our needs.

The SUV that we are looking for is a 7-seater SUV from Ford for US$46,000 (1.5 million Thai baht). This price is all in, including one-year insurance. This particular SUV is big and strong and able to go through hard and rough terrains.

We are not wanting to get second hand vehicles for most second hand vehicles come with a lot of issues and we want both vehicles to last for a long time without having to worry about them breaking down.

The other major thing we are raising funds for are all the things to fill the training center.

The past leader had left and took everything with him to start another ministry in another province. So, even though we have found a new place we do not have anything to fill it, so it is totally empty. We need beds for all the staff and future students (5 dorm rooms), wardrobe, kitchen supplies, stove, refrigerator, tables and chairs for class and office, bookshelf whiteboard, dining table, water filter, and many more. We also need to lay down flooring tiles on the ground floor of the center. The building has no cooling system so we also will need to add A/C and fans.

This building will not only be a training center, but it's also a home for all the staff and students. It will also be a place of worship and a place where people get to know Jesus.

It is located right next to a local wet market, food market, and weekly night market, a hospital, schools, and college. There are many possibilities for evangelism and also building relationships with the locals.

The amount that we need for the training center is around US$34,500. This amount will help us to buy everything that we need for the center, and for the Discipleship Training School that we will run in October 2025.

We are raising a total of $80,500** for all the needs listed above; for the vehicle and for the training center.

Your support will help us to grow our ministry and to reach the unreached as we bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the most remote places and be the hands and feet of Jesus.
