We at Dandelion Teahouse & Apothecary are fundraising to bring the 2026 Vancouver Pride Block Party to life! To keep Pride community-centered and aligned with our values, we’re inviting local supporters to help fund this powerful, inclusive celebration. Every donation directly supports the event, and donors will be recognized on a special keepsake flyer. Pride is for the community, by the community, and we can’t do it without you. Who We Are
Hi there! We are Kat and Marianne, the founders of Dandelion Teahouse & Apothecary. We opened Dandelion in 2021 as a for profit business, and after 5 years of growth and becoming more and more community focused, we are excited to share that as of January 1, we are a non-profit organization! Our mission is to create inclusive community spaces where queer, BIPOC, and other historically marginalized people can connect, heal, and thrive through joyful gatherings, wellness experiences, and resources that nourish the mind, heart, and spirit. We welcome people of all identities who are drawn to meaningful connection.
What We're Doing
For the past five years, we have been organizing Vancouver’s Pride Block Party and many other community events. With our amazing board, incredible staff, team of dedicated volunteers, and the support of inspiring community partners, we are creating inclusive community spaces where queer, BIPOC, and other historically marginalized people can celebrate authenticity and simply be.
Safe, welcoming spaces for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and allies are needed now more than ever before. Pride is, of course, a celebration, but it is so much more than that. It is a beacon for those who are still finding the courage to live authentically, a sanctuary for queer and trans folks, a reason to keep moving forward. It is a memorial of those who came before us and made it possible to be out and proud. Pride helps us find safety in community. It is a reminder that we are not alone, and that queer, trans, and nonbinary people are part of a global, vibrant, and resilient family. It is a moment for people to come together, to find joy and strength in each other, and to show that Vancouver is a place where everyone belongs.
The Pride Block Party is wholly based around equity and inclusion, and is designed to be an uplifting, empowering day for historically marginalized and underserved communities in Vancouver. We believe that in order to serve these communities, a diverse range of voices need to be included throughout the planning and execution of the event. This year, the block party will be organized and funded in collaboration with community partners and individuals like you - not big corporations whose values don’t align with ours or the spirit of this event. We are centering community in every aspect of the Pride Block Party; whether it's choosing entertainers and vendors, assembling a comprehensive safety plan, or planning the event layout, community voices will be the driving force that moves us ahead.
How You Can Help
The unfortunate reality of large scale community events is that they cost money to put on. In an effort to stay true to our values as an organization and uphold the historical integrity of Pride, we are choosing to forego the easy route of soliciting funds from large corporations, and instead we are choosing to fundraise on a local scale.
This is where you come in: we are trying something new this year and asking for financial support from individuals in our community. By supporting the 2026 Pride Block Party, you are helping this event continue to exist at a time when it is desperately needed by so many in our community. As a thank you for your support, after this year's event, you will receive a special keepsake version of the event flyer which will contain your name, and the names of each and every donor.
We can't do this without you, Vancouver. Thank you so much for your support, and we can't wait to experience the magic of Vancouver's Pride Block Party with you this year. See you on June 13th!
