Their Story

Valentina is a devoted mother fighting to protect her 10-year-old son Leon while escaping an abusive relationship that has escalated to physical violence. Leon is a wonderful boy with autism who requires consistent care, attention, and advocacy. Right now, Valentina is doing everything she can to provide him with the safe, stable environment he deserves—but she cannot do it alone.

This past month brought a heartbreaking crisis. Leon had an incident at school that forced the school to place him in emergency psychiatric care—a traumatic experience for both him and Valentina, who had to navigate this situation while already carrying so much.

Currently, Valentina remains financially dependent on her abusive ex-partner, forcing her to maintain contact with someone who has caused her tremendous harm. **Our goal is to help her achieve financial independence so she can fully break free from this toxic relationship and focus entirely on Leon's wellbeing.**
