Support Unjustly Fired Workers at Mother’s Market

Please support the workers at Mother’s Market in Costa Mesa who were unjustly terminated.

15 workers bravely fighting for a union at the Mother's Market flagship store in Costa Mesa were unjustly terminated. The “healthy” grocery chain informed workers via Fedex letter of their termination on Friday, August 21st. No reason was given for each workers’ termination.

Since April, workers at seven of twelve Mother’s Market locations have been campaigning for a union to address chronic workplace issues like low pay, understaffing and last minute scheduling. Workers are asking for a union as a way to improve store conditions for themselves and customers.

But workers are not giving up; instead they are doubling down and asking our community to support us in fighting back against this union busting and intimidation campaign. As these workers wait for resolution of Unfair Labor Practice claims against the Company, we are asking our community to provide whatever financial support you can.

I am the Executive Director of Clergy and Laity United for Economic Justice (CLUE). We have been supporting the workers from Mother’s Market throughout their struggle to form a union. Funds raised will be divided evenly and distributed directly to the workers who were unjustly terminated.

We're trying to raise $30,000, which would give each worker $2,000.
