Giving Back Smiles is a student-led, student-organized club based on the University of North Florida campus, dedicated to improving oral health outcomes within our community through direct service and education. Many individuals experiencing homelessness and underserved children lack consistent access to basic oral-hygiene supplies, which increases their risk for preventable dental diseases, infections, and long-term health complications. To address this need, we are raising funds to assemble comprehensive oral-hygiene kits that include toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, and age-appropriate educational materials on proper brushing, flossing, and overall oral care.

These kits will be distributed in three primary ways:

1. Direct outreach to individuals experiencing homelessness, who often have limited access to dental care.

2. Support for underserved community children, teaching them about the importance of oral hygiene and ensuring they have the tools necessary to build healthy habits at home.

3. Use at our UNF-led educational events in schools and community centers, where we provide oral-health demonstrations and share information on maintaining proper oral hygiene.

As a fully student-run organization at UNF, we are committed to creating sustainable health initiatives and serving as advocates for oral-health equity. However, we rely on community support to fund the materials that make this work possible. Every donation directly contributes to the cost of supplies and allows us to expand our outreach efforts. Your support helps us provide essential care, promote health equity, and bring confidence and dignity to those who need it most.
