Hi,

My name is Gordon Murphy, and I’m raising money for a cause that means a lot to me. With everyone’s attention unquestionably focused on the middle east, it is more important than ever not to lose sight of the situation in Ukraine.

Looking back on my trip in October, I’m still deeply moved by the character and dedication of my fellow volunteers, as well as the overwhelming gratitude we received from the Ukrainians when we delivered the ambulances. The photos I took barely hint at the emotion in those moments — the relief, the hope, the sincerity of their thanks. Most Americans can’t truly imagine what it means to live every day in a war torn country. That experience changed me, and it left me with a sense of responsibility I can’t ignore. I feel compelled to continue helping in whatever ways I can.

This May, I will join Ukraine Focus on Mission 17 with a hefty goal of delivering 40 ambulances. This includes a couple of other vehicle types and equipment and goods, such as SUVs, vans, 3-D printers, medical supplies, and toys for a children’s hospital will be part of the mission.

You may feel that the paint has barely dried and that I’m reaching out again too soon, but the need is urgent — and this is something we can do that truly makes a difference. On our last trip, thanks to the generosity of Fishers Island and its friends, Ukraine Focus was able to purchase four additional ambulances right on the Polish border.

I know this is a significant ask, but I hope I can once again count on your generosity to support the mission and stand with the people of Ukraine. We never see the full picture on the evening news, but every bit helps our friends in Ukraine
