UC Nurses plan to sympathy strike with AFCSME on November 17 and 18.
Our PICU family has a legacy of lifting each other up and supporting each other. Let's mitigate the financial hardship on our PICU family members who are supporting their respective strike (AFSCME) or sympathy strike (CNA) by sacrificing their pay to avoid crossing the picket line.
This includes PICU staff nurses, dedicated unit EVS workers, HUSCs, Children's Pediatric Critical Care Transport Team nurses, and Pediatric SOS float pool nurses who are sacrificing their scheduled shift(s) of wages.
Thank you for your solidarity with workers across the UC system.
DISCLAIMERS:
If a nurse is court mandated to work a shift during the strike period, they would not be eligible to receive disbursements from the strike fund because they would be receiving normal pay for that shift.
If the strike is called off for any reason, the funds will be returned to the donors minus any administrative fees.
Staff who greenbox on strike days are not eligible for strike relief.
This is not a union-led strike fund.
