Supporting Tyler & Desiree During Torin’s NICU Journey
Hi, my name is Jake. I’m Tyler’s brother and Desiree’s brother-in-law, and I’m organizing this fundraiser on their behalf during a season no family is ever prepared to face.
In November 2025, our family’s lives changed quickly. Tyler unexpectedly lost his job. Just six days later, Desiree was airlifted from Sierra Vista to Banner in Tucson after developing severe preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome, a life-threatening pregnancy complication.
Only five days after being airlifted, Desiree’s condition worsened, and she delivered their son via emergency C-section. Torin Chase Wilson—our little Torin-ado—was born on November 17, 2025, at 27 weeks and 6 days gestation, weighing 2 pounds, 2 ounces. He was immediately admitted to the NICU, where he continues his brave journey. While his prognosis is positive, he still has a long road ahead.
Right now, Tyler and Desiree are spending as much time in Tucson as possible to be near Torin, while also caring for their older son, Kaiden, who will turn 3 years old in March. They are deeply grateful to friends who helped with housing early on and to the Ronald McDonald House, which has been an incredible blessing during this extended hospital stay.
Desiree is currently on short-term disability, receiving a portion of her salary, and the family is thankful for that support. Tyler will be starting a new job soon, and Desiree will also need to return to work while Torin remains hospitalized. Once they return to work, our family will begin making same-day trips back and forth between Sierra Vista and Tucson during the week, while staying in Tucson on weekends to spend extended time with Torin.
Although they had savings, those funds have been quickly diminished by medical costs, travel expenses, and everyday living needs.
This GoFundMe was created to help ease financial strain so Tyler and Desiree can focus on being present for Torin while continuing to care for Kaiden.
Our family is deeply grateful for the prayers, encouragement, meals, gifts, and generosity already shown. Our faith remains strong, and Tyler and Desiree continue this journey with faith, hope, gratitude, and unwavering love for their children.
Any contribution, no matter the amount, helps during this challenging season. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser and keeping them in your prayers means more than you know.
Thank you for standing with our family during this time and for supporting Tyler, Desiree, Kaiden, and Torin.
