It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic passing of Makala, who left us far too soon this morning on May 13, 2025. A week ago, she brought a beautiful baby boy into the world. Now, her husband Tyler is facing an unimaginable loss — raising their newborn and their 6-year-old son without the love of his life.

As you can imagine, this has turned their world upside down.

If you knew Makala and Tyler, you know the kind of people they are — always the first to show up for others. Whether it was bringing food, lending money, or simply lending an ear when someone was struggling, they gave without hesitation. Their love, generosity, and strength touched everyone around them.

We are starting this GoFundMe to give back, even in a small way, to a family who has given so much to others. Our goal is to ease the financial burden on Tyler during this heartbreaking time — to give him the space to grieve, to care for his sons, and to begin navigating life without his soulmate.
