Hey everyone!

Last October my fiancée Tyla was diagnosed with hydrocephalus, a chronic neurological condition where her brain is unable to drain the cerebrospinal fluid naturally. This can cause chronic pain, severe headaches, fatigue, and other debilitating symptoms. Shortly after her diagnosis she had emergency brain surgery to place a VP shunt. Two weeks after her release, she suffered a CVST stroke, from multiple blood clots forming in her brain due to the surgery. Thankfully since the stroke was caused by the surgery we were able to get the first bill of over half a million dollars completely covered through the hospital.

However, this week, her shunt was over-draining, leading to her needing multiple adjustments and extensive testing. These complications lead to her being in the hospital for a week. Unfortunately, instead of receiving understanding or accommodations for her medical condition, she was terminated from her job because of it. Losing her income so suddenly on top of the medical challenges has placed an overwhelming financial and emotional burden on us.

Right now, we are facing:

• Ongoing medical expenses related to hydrocephalus

• Loss of income after her termination

• Basic living costs like utilities, food, and transportation

• The stress of trying to stay afloat while prioritizing her health

On top of this we were planning on getting married sometime in March, however due to the sudden amount of bills piling up and her termination from her job, we may have to postpone the wedding.
