Want to join me in making a difference?
This summer, a mate and I will be taking on a huge challenge to raise money for the Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue Team by riding the Capital Trail—a demanding 240km off-road route with over 4,000 metres of climbing and descending.
The Capital Trail is a tough, cycling adventure that links together forest tracks, gravel paths, remote trails, and quiet back roads, taking us through some of the most stunning and challenging landscapes in the area. It will test both physical endurance and mental resilience, pushing us well outside our comfort zones.
Our A-goal is to complete the route in under 24 hours, while our B-goal is simply to finish. Either way, it will be a serious challenge and a great opportunity to raise money for an incredible local cause.
I’m raising money to support the Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue Team, and every donation—big or small—will help make a real impact. Thank you in advance for supporting a cause that means so much to me.
The Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue Team is made up entirely of dedicated volunteers who give up their time, day and night, to help people when they need it most. Whether responding to injured walkers, searching for missing people, or assisting those in difficulty in remote areas, these highly skilled volunteers are always ready to step in.
The team has three main aims, as set out in its charity constitution:
- Saving lives
- Advancing health
- Locating and helping people who are lost, injured, missing, or otherwise in need of assistance
Operating a mountain rescue team requires specialist training, equipment, vehicles, medical supplies, and constant fundraising to keep everything running smoothly. Unlike many emergency services, mountain rescue teams rely heavily on public donations to continue providing this vital service.
Our local team works tirelessly to keep people safe in the outdoors across the Tweed Valley and surrounding areas. Their commitment, professionalism, and willingness to help others make a huge difference to so many lives.
Every donation will go directly towards supporting the team’s lifesaving work and helping ensure they can continue being there for people in their moment of greatest need.
Please donate if you can, and if you’re unable to give, sharing this page would mean just as much.
Thank you for your support,
David.
