Hello! We’re Chloé, Maire, and Edgar, three passionate graduate students with a deep connection to Madagascar. Thank you so much for taking the time to visit our GoFundMe page!

Together, we’ve dedicated our academic journeys to this incredible country. Each of us has completed a master’s degree focused on research in Madagascar. Currently, Chloé and Maire are continuing their important work through PhD programs, while Edgar is pursuing a master’s degree in public health, driven by his passion for community health and the One Health framework.

Now, we’re reaching out to you to help us support the people of Tsinjoarivo , a small rural town nestled in Madagascar’s mountainous eastern rainforest. This region, with its year-round heavy rainfall and chilly temperatures (sometimes as low as 40°F/4°C), is home to extraordinary biodiversity, including lemurs, as well as resilient, vibrant communities. For over two decades, conservation efforts here led in collaboration with the NGO Sadabe , have focused on preserving the forests and wildlife that make Tsinjoarivo so unique. These efforts have been critical in addressing the impacts of climate and habitat change. But none of this would have been possible without the dedication and partnership of the local community.

Now, it’s time for us to give back. While conserving the forests is vital, the people of Tsinjoarivo face pressing challenges that deserve our attention, too. Like many rural areas in Madagascar, Tsinjoarivo struggles with limited access to healthcare, clean water, and electricity, basic necessities that impact health, education, and quality of life. We’ve had the privilege of working closely with the people of Tsinjoarivo, learning from their strength and kindness. Your support can make a real difference in their lives. Whether it’s improving access to clean water, enhancing education, or supporting healthcare initiatives, every contribution goes a long way in uplifting this community.

Clothing, shoes, and bedding to help families stay warm and comfortable.

Medical supplies to improve access to basic healthcare.

School supplies and books to support education for children.

Seeds, solar lamps, and reusable water bottles to promote sustainability and improve daily life.

Assistance with the transport of donated clothing from the U.S. to Madagascar.
