Every year, thousands of truck drivers spend Thanksgiving far from home, delivering the goods that keep our country running. While many of us are gathered around the table with family and friends, these dedicated men and women are on the road - often with no hot meal or community to celebrate with.
This Thanksgiving, my children and I want to show our appreciation by providing hot Thanksgiving meals to truckers at our local Love's Truck Stop, inviting those from Pilot as well, and any trucks we see parked along the way. Since my husband will be at a truck stop alongside the interstate, somewhere across the country on Thanksgiving day this year, this is our way to also give back and serve our Trucking Community on a day that can frequently be very lonely for truckers.
With your help, we will be able to:
- Provide full Thanksgiving meals (turkey, sides, dessert, and drink)
- Deliver meals to parked trucks
- Hand out thank you cards
- Help a Truck Driver feel appreciated
We hope to serve as many truckers as possible (Approx 200 or more), and remind them that they're appreciated. From our family and community to theirs, a thank you for keeping the world turning.
