Support Troop 4 Scouts on Their Philmont Adventure!
Donation protected
Boy Scout Troop 4 is a dynamic troop dedicated to helping scouts develop leadership, character, and a love for outdoor adventures. Based in Upper St. Clair, PA, we offer a variety of activities, including camping, merit badges, and community service, to help scouts grow into confident and responsible leaders.
This June, seven scouts from Troop 4 will embark on the adventure of a lifetime—a 12-day backpacking trek at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. This high-adventure experience will test their endurance, leadership, and outdoor skills as they navigate rugged terrain and push their limits.
To prepare for this journey, these dedicated young men completed six rigorous training outings in 2024, covering over 55 miles across locations such as Coopers Rock, WV, the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail, and Bear Run Nature Reserve. Each scout has spent more than 60 hours training, proving their commitment both physically and mentally.
However, the cost of this journey is significant—each scout must cover over $4,000 for travel, gear, and Philmont fees. They’ve invested their time and resources into this challenge, and now we’re asking for your support to help them reach the trail.
Every donation, big or small, makes a difference. Thank you for your generosity and support!
