Hi. My name is Nikki. 8 years ago, I became part of a family, the Hall's, who have been a total rock of a support system for both my family and anyone else who has had the pleasure of knowing them. The heart of this wonderful family is "Papa Tris". Tris is like no one I have ever met. He has been through the absolute worst thing anyone could ever imagine, losing his daughter, Emily, but chooses to still start each day with a smile and infectious pep in his step. He is a huge inspiration and brings so much joy and humanity back into this scary world.

On December 10th, after trips to urgent care and ER visits were not proving to be helpful, Tris ended up in the Cleveland Clinic. He was very weak, not a term EVER used to describe this hyperactive, go-getter of a man. His blood count was at an 8 and eventually went low enough to warrant a transfusion. His kidney and liver numbers were also cause for alarm. After blood work, MRIs, CT scans, and endless hours of trying to connect dots, they found that there was a strep infection in his blood. The infection came from a tooth that had been pulled in November. While this infection was scary and being in the hospital was taxing to both him and his wife, it was a blessing in disguise. In doing all of these tests, doctors found that Tris's heart of steel had a faulty valve and there were some spots on his brain scan. From there, he underwent both a heart and brain catheter. Thankfully, the brain was clear! He had heart surgery today, 12-23-25, and will spend his Christmas with his ever-present wife, Beth, and family; grateful to be given the opportunity to be able to go home at all. He will be in the hospital for another week or two while he heals and will need some rehabilitation after.

I am asking for donations to help ease some of the financial stress this has added to their lives while he recovers. He would never ask anyone for anything other than a hug, so I will for him. If you are not able to donate, please pray for his speedy recovery! Thank you!!!
