My friend Trish has spent years doing everything she can to create stability and happiness for her family, only to be met with one obstacle after another. I’m starting this GoFundMe in the hope of helping her finally reach some of the goals she’s been working so hard toward. One immediate need is a storage shed. Someone had offered to donate a small one but never followed through, and the shed she currently has is literally falling apart. She needs a safe, secure place to store holiday decorations and Zack’s medical equipment and supplies so her home can feel “normal” again. Trish and Jeffrey have already put a down payment on a new shed, and if we can raise enough to pay it off, it would be an incredible blessing and one less ongoing worry for them. After spending 18 years with the wrong partner, Trish finally found her person in Jeffrey. They have attempted to plan their wedding four different times, and each time life intervened. First, the twins were born at 26 weeks and spent six months in the NICU, forcing them to cancel the wedding and lose all the deposits they had already paid. The next time they planned, Zack began experiencing severe, back-to-back seizures, including a 29-minute seizure, and underwent four surgeries for a VNS device that his body ultimately rejected. During their third attempt, Jeffrey was seriously injured at work, severing all the tendons in one leg and requiring multiple surgeries and extensive therapy just to walk again. When she began planning once more, Trish was diagnosed with breast cancer and has since undergone treatment, including a double mastectomy and four additional surgeries due to complications. This year, Trish would love to take a few small trips with her kids, but financially it just isn’t possible. Anything we can do to provide them with even a little mental, physical, and financial relief would mean more than words can express. She has spent years fundraising to make sure her children have the equipment and resources they need. Now it’s time to give something back to her—to offer relief and help some of her own dreams finally come true.
