Support Trilogy Residents Against Avenue 62 elevated Roadway
Donation protected
In this picture you are looking down Avenue 62, directly next to the Trilogy development, at the 30 feet berm (Dike 4) that was built to protect South La Quinta from a 100 year flood event due to the surrounding mountain ranges. The proposed Travertine Development will be using a 60 foot wide, elevated roadway over this berm, as the main entrance and exit into the development. The silver can represents where the elevated roadway will begin to be built, 600 feet before the berm. It then extends to 6 feet over the 30-foot berm. It can't touch the berm in order to preserve the integrity of the berm for flood control. With vehicles up to 13 feet tall, this will tower up to 50 feet above Trilogy. Besides seeing traffic (up to 6000 vehicles a DAY in the first phase), there will be noise impacts, air quality impacts, lights and obstructed views. We need to raise money to hire a noise and other consultants to fight the Travertine applicant, who has studies that say there will be no impacts to the Trilogy residents. We must present verifiable independent data to fight this or we won't be able to get the developer to move this entrance to another location. We will return any unspent money. If you choose to donate anonymously, send a note to Alena Callimanis so we can reimburse you as well.
