Protective Gear for Protest Photographer

Hello, My name is Travis from, Denver, CO.

I'm an independent un-paid photographer capturing the historic record of BLM, Anti-Ice, and Anti-fascism protest for five years now.

I feel a duty to go out and document

and share the history that is happening all around us.

My photos from the 2020 BLM protests were published in the USA, the UK, and France.

A series of my photos helped win a 3 million dollar law suit against the City of Denver.

Capturing history is my passion; not my job. Although I'd like to make photography my full-time living; I still have a day-job that pays the bills.

Balancing this with my desire to report the truth has been financially challenging.

I would like to continue going to these protests with my cameras, and to record and publish history as it is happening now.

I feel a responsibility to humanity and to history to put myself at the front lines of a protest. To document the historical events as they happen. To help future generations understand what happened, why we did this, and why and how who we were.

Why am I asking you for money:

I need a helmet, a gas-mask, and a spectacle (glasses) insert for the gas-mask and lenses.

A helmet to protect my brain from 37mm and 40mm "Rubber Bullets" commonly used by Law Enforcement.

A gas-mask to protect my lungs and eyes from "Tear Gas" / CS and CN gas commonly used by Law Enforcement.

And a spectacle insert and lenses ("glasses") for the gas-mask to allow me to see. (I wear glasses)

If you are willing to contribute, and If an am able to purchase a helmet and gas-mask: This will allow me to continue my journey as an independent photographer. Taking and sharing photos of the historical protests and demonstrations by the people without any corporate agendas, or other interests.

So, I ask you:
