Support Transgender People of Color with the Lavender Tiger!

Hello, I’m Aria! I’m a college student and a proud participant in the United Nations Millennium Fellowship, where I’m working to create a more equitable world—one where everyone has the resources they need to thrive.

In recent years, we’ve witnessed a surge in harmful policies and rhetoric aimed at the trans community, particularly in the U.S. This has created an environment of fear and instability for people like me. No one should have to sacrifice their safety or well-being just for having the courage to be their authentic self.

As part of my fellowship, I founded The Lavender Tiger—a project that blends two powerful symbols. Lavender, a color deeply connected to queer history, and the tiger, representing beauty and strength, honor both my queer identity and my Indian heritage.

Through this initiative, I’m providing Direct Cash Transfers to support Trans People of Color (TPOC) who are experiencing food insecurity, homelessness, or escaping abusive situations. So far, I’ve donated $500 to 15 individuals, helping them meet urgent needs and even reaching goals in 4 GoFundMe campaigns.

But the need is overwhelming. That’s why I’m raising $1,500 to provide an additional $150 in immediate financial support to 10 more TPOC fundraisers across the U.S. who are in dire need of assistance.
