Support Trail Life Service Project for Freedom Award
Donation protected
I am raising funds for my Trail Life Service Project so that I can get my Freedom Award and get the position of Freedom Rangeman. The Service Project is the equivalent of the big project the Boy Scouts have to do to earn their Eagle Scout Award. I need approximately $300 in materials in order to make a book exchange box that I am going to put inside of my local church.
The Trail Life USA Servant Leadership Project must provide a positive impact on the community, leadership opportunity, and longevity. It will be much bigger than most service projects I have participated in, and I will be planning and leading it all. My project must have a significant and positive impact on the community. Additionally, My project must benefit a service-oriented or non-profit entity, other than Trail Life USA which is why I chose a church to host the box.
Background: Trail Life USA is a faith-based Scout-like organization providing youth mentorship and character development to boys in the United States. The Freedom Award is the highest award in Trail Life USA. Earning the award requires a demonstrated mastery of a significant skill set including 15 required and 10 elective Trail Badges, performing 20 hours of servant service each year, and the distinction of having proven himself as a leader among his peers. He must also complete four "Freedom Experiences" in 3 separate chosen fields; complete a Faith Building Activity; budget, plan, and lead a volunteer team to complete a Servant Leadership Project; and complete an advancement conference and formal Freedom Board of Review. Currently, I am in the process of doing the Servant Leadership Project where I guide other trail men, peers, and other volunteers in my project.
Thank you for your consideration.
