Outside of the classroom, I am involved with a local charity that means a lot to me. It is called Touching Heart and it teaches kids about something super important – philanthropy. Touching Heart believes that even kids, like us, can make a big difference in the world! They teach us how to be kind, how to think about others who might need our help, and how to take action to make things better for people.

One of the coolest things about Touching Heart is that they have provided me the foundation to get involved. They have supported my efforts to coordinate three mission trips overseas to provide care packages to needy children. I got my friends excited and involved in creating these packages. They taught me how to organize a fundraiser, get people to give and get people to volunteer. And let me tell you, it feels amazing to know that we're making a difference.

I am an ambassador for Touching Heart. My goal is to spread this philanthropic spirit to others and create a culture of giving. I can tell you firsthand, Touching Heart has made me a better person.
