Support Tori, Teri, Bill, and Grandma Joanne

Our family’s roots run deep in the Pasadena/Altadena community—a place that has been the heart of our lives for generations. Grandma Joanne, Bill’s mother, moved here from Minnesota in 1947, where she met her husband and raised their two children in La Canada Flintridge.

In 1987, Teri moved from Minnesota to Burbank, where she met Bill at the iconic Twin Palms, a beloved local spot that is no longer there. Together, they built their lives in this community, becoming homeowners in Pasadena and raising their daughter Tori here for the past 30 years.

Tori grew up playing sports in local parks, attending Pasadena Christian School and Flintridge Sacred Heart, and making lifelong memories with friends and neighbors—many of whose homes have now been lost in the fire.

On January 7, 2025, our lives were upended when the Eaton Fire erupted behind Tori’s condo complex and Grandma Joanne’s assisted living center, with flames visible from Teri and Bill’s home. Thanks to timely warnings from friends and family, we evacuated safely, but the devastation has left us displaced and facing significant challenges.

Grandma Joanne’s assisted living center was destroyed, and she lost everything. Although Teri and Bill’s home survived, they cannot return due to damage in the area. Tori’s condo is one of the few units still standing in her 48 unit complex, but she now needs to permanently relocate. The displacement has been challenging for all of us, especially Bill, who is disabled. Thankfully, his dialysis center remains operational.

This community has been our home for decades, and now we are reaching out for support to help us through this difficult time. Your contributions will assist with the many unforeseen costs we face as we work to rebuild our lives. Any help, big or small, will make a meaningful difference in our recovery.
