Early this week, my coworker and his family lost their home due to a fire. While insurance is great in the long term to help relocate or rebuild, it is very slow in meeting immediate needs. A hotel for the three of them for the current month is nearly $5k. Food, which they will not be able to prepare at home or maintain in large quantities in a hotel refrigerator, will be additional. Replacing clothing, household necessities, all of these things add up and cannot wait for insurance to decide what is payable or not.

The fire started in the garage, destroying his Harley Fat Boy, and quickly spread through the attic to the rest of the home. Thankfully, Tony's wife (Kimberly) and her son were alerted by the smoke detectors and were able to get out safely.

I am hoping that this can help meet those short-term needs while they decide their next steps. Please join me in making this time of incredible stress a little more bearable.
