On the evening of March 4th, a terrifying tragedy struck our friend and colleague, Toni Burden, and her family. In less than 90 minutes, a massive fire engulfed their Lakeview, Long Island home. The destruction was total. Toni and her family lost their furniture, appliances, clothing, and every irreplaceable memento that made their house a home. Most heartbreakingly, they lost their beloved pets and a safe place to sleep.

Recovery Update: While we are incredibly grateful that no lives were lost, the road to physical healing is ongoing. Two family members are currently recovering from second-degree burns, lacerations, and smoke inhalation. They are showing incredible strength, but the medical and emotional toll is significant.

Their home has been declared uninhabitable, leaving them with little more than the clothes on their backs.
