Tom Jordan has been the heart of Summer Winds for over three decades, serving as our Director of Services since 1989. On September 9, 2025, Tom experienced a sudden and serious health emergency that required extensive medical treatment and a lengthy recovery period. After many weeks in the hospital, he is now in rehabilitation and working hard to regain his strength. Throughout this difficult time, the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and staff have supported Tom in every way possible. However, we have now reached a point where we are no longer able to provide additional financial assistance or work hours. Unfortunately, short-term disability coverage is not available, leaving Tom with significant medical and living expenses while he remains unable to work.

Tom’s dedication to the Summer Winds community is unmatched. He has personally hosted every annual homeowners meeting, organized beloved events such as the Easter egg hunts and summer barbecues, and worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure each gathering was special for homeowners, their families, and guests. Even during our busiest seasons, Tom could be found managing supplies and logistics for Gingers Café—always going the extra mile to make sure everything ran smoothly. His hard work, loyalty, and genuine friendships have made him an irreplaceable part of our community.

Tom’s absence has been deeply felt. This year, for the first time, we had to rely on outside catering for the annual meeting, and his responsibilities at the Sports Complex and Gingers Café have been shared among others who are still learning the ropes. The staff at Summer Winds would like to thank our homeowners for their continued kindness and support. Any contributions you can make to help Tom during this difficult time would be deeply appreciated. As he continues his recovery, we remain hopeful and encourage everyone to keep him in their thoughts and prayers.
