TKO Farming a land-based institution which uses traditional and organic farming practices, rooted in the spirit and history of Mississippi, to educate and transform the Spay-Panhandle community of Choctaw County Mississippi. TKO farming has been in operation since January, 2017. For the past 3 years we have been building farm infrastructure as well as a functioning fully integrated farming operation. We have taken family land and transformed it by adding 4000 feet of livestock fencing(along with actual livestock), a High Tunnel system for extending the growing season, a Water Well that supplies fresh, clean water to the livestock, and vegetable enterprises. While doing this we have managed to create youth and young adult programming for mentorships and internships. In order to continue the growth of our operations and capacity to bring healthy, nutritious food and agricultural skills to the next generation of Mississippians, we are in dire need of upgrades to our farm. None more important, at this point, than a tractor. Yes we know it's hard to believe that we have done so much without one but it's true. The tractor we purchased when we began was nearly 50 years old and quit on us some time ago. Our Fall Family/Youth program starts October 7, 2019 and we are going to raise 31,800 to purchase a brand-new Kubota MX5200 HST. This tractor is a 4WD, with a canopy and front-end loader with bucket. This will allow us to take our work to the next phase. We appreciate your support in growing our farm and strengthening our community.
