My name is Tishera L. Page, a Detroit small business owner and community organizer who has spent the past decade building businesses and pouring into the city I love. Over the years, I’ve volunteered and worked alongside organizations like BasBlue, Mothering Justice, Ruth Ellis Center, Detroit PAL, Friends of Rouge Park, BUILD Institute, Detroit Action, and many others because I believe deeply in serving community.

Right now, I’m asking for that same community to help me.

Over the past year, my physical and mental health have taken a serious hit due to injuries that have limited my ability to work. I have poured my personal savings into my businesses, family responsibilities, and community work without outside funding. Recently, while helping care for a family member whose health has also declined, I suffered another fall that has set my recovery back even further.

Because of these setbacks, I have fallen behind on getting started on a major goal - making conversion repairs to the home, the home I moved back into in 2019 before the world shut down.

This house means everything to me. My dream has always been to restore it not just for my family, but as a space that serves the neighborhood — with plans for a Little Library, community fridge, pantry, and garden (I was recently accepted into the Keep Growing Detroit Garden Resource Program). I also hope to make the backyard and basement available for community gatherings and small events.
