My name is Tabitha Salame I am here to try to raise some money for my mother Tina Salame we are from Templeton Massachusetts but my mother resides in Gardner Massachusetts now and I live in Winchendon Massachusetts.

She ended up sick in October, and fast forward to December, it was decided my mother needed a full liver transplant due to cirrhosis of the liver, which doctors could not find the cause of. She was admitted to Beth Israel in Boston for exactly a month, and then we got a call for a donor the day she was stable enough to leave the hospital. My mom got a new liver on January 17, 2025. She had been readmitted to Beth Israel 5 times after the transplant but has now been home since March 7th, and we are so happy she is doing better.

Unfortunately, when cleaning her apartment, my aunt and I found a significant amount of mold in my mother's closet among other places around the apartment, and the liver specialist in Boston said my mother could never set foot back in the apartment.

Thankfully, we were able to secure my mom a new apartment, but we had to throw away most of her belongings because we just couldn’t risk her life over material objects in her contaminated living space. We have gotten some help already, and we are extremely grateful, but she still needs quite a bit for her new place and we had to finance a few pieces of furniture so she was comfy at home post-transplant. My momma has also lost nearly 60 pounds since her transplant, and once she is further post-transplant, she’ll need some new clothes. The money we raise will pay off the rest of the furniture get anything else my mom needs for her apartment, new clothes, and car repairs or a slightly better used car to ensure she’s safe driving to local appointments in the future
