Hello! We're Tiara & Adrian, and like many right now, we've been experiencing a string of pretty rotten luck. As a result, we've been treading water financially, barely making ends meet and, to be honest, not quite making them meet recently. But we've been managing. Mostly.

However, our situation just became much more precarious. Adrian was laid off with a small severance. And if we can't get caught up on our mortgage before A's severance runs out, we will lose our house.

Etsy's abrupt closing of Tiara's successful Etsy shop ended up being disastrous for our situation. We are now several months behind on mortgage. The plan was to use the large payment from one of Tiara's large freelance projects to catch up but that money now has to go toward survival.

You see, Tiara is disabled with a rare, slowly progressing terminal illness (ADLD - Autosomal Dominant Leukosytrophy) and unable to work full-time. She freelances as often as possible but the market isn't great right now and jobs aren't coming like they used to.

Additionally until Adrian gets a new job, Tiara's expensive medication will not be covered by insurance after September 30. We're of course looking into alternatives but they're all very expensive compared to the excellent insurance we've grown accustomed to.

This is not an insurmountable problem. Tiara has small but consistent gigs lined up through the end of the year. Adrian interviews well and we're hopeful he will find something quickly. It's the backpayments on mortgage that are making things perilous.

We appreciate any help you can give. It's not easy for us to ask for help. Before Tiara got sick we valued being the ones who did the giving. But we do have a plan to stay out of the hole once we get out of it. Anything helps.
