My sister Theresa and her high school son lost everything yesterday when their home went up in flames. The fire has left them completely displaced, with no clear timeline for when they’ll be able to return or rebuild. What should have been a normal day turned into one of the most traumatic moments of their lives.

While we are grateful they made it out safely, the heartbreak is unimaginable.

They lost their beloved animals to smoke inhalation. Only one of their dogs survived, and he is now the only piece of their home they have left.

Theresa is now faced with the overwhelming challenge of finding a place to stay that will allow their dog, replacing essential items, and figuring out how to begin repairing the home, something they simply cannot afford on their own.
