Hello, my name is Moira, and I am fundraising for Pema T’sal Monastic Institute in Pokhara, Nepal.
Pema T’sal is a Tibetan Buddhist monastery that is home to around 150 monks, many of them young boys who begin their spiritual and educational journey here. Over the past few years, I have been visiting Pema T’sal as part of my Buddhist practice, and each time I am deeply moved by the compassion, dedication, and joy I witness in this community.
The monastery provides not only spiritual guidance but also a strong education, helping these boys grow into compassionate teachers and leaders who will go on to serve their communities in Nepal, India, and beyond. For Tibetan families, having a son join the monastery is both a spiritual blessing and an opportunity for their child to receive education and care.
This year, I am raising funds to bring joy and comfort to the youngest members of the monastery. The donations will go towards:
• Soft toys for the youngest boys, offering them comfort as they adjust to monastic life.
• Games, balls, and educational toys and materials to enrich playtime and learning for the children.
• If we raise enough, we will also provide some winter essentials such as socks, warm hats, and gloves. Winters in Pokhara can be harsh, especially for those living without heating, hot water, and comforts that many of us take for granted.
Every single donation counts — even €1 makes a difference. And as a gesture of gratitude, all donors will be included in a special prayer ceremony at the monastery.
I will also be sharing photos of the monks receiving their gifts so you can see the joy your kindness brings.
Thank you so much for helping me support this wonderful community. Together, we can make their winter warmer and their days brighter.
