Hello wonderful people! Thanks for being here. I am moved to fundraise for a cause very dear to me, and I hope our story resonates with you to contribute in even a small way. Let me tell you about Wild Society, a little org with a big love for the mountains. Wild Society’s beautiful mission, to cultivate wonder and belonging in the natural world, has been fulfilled through partnerships with groups supporting African immigrants, day programs with local schools around the Kitsap peninsula, and, most notably, multi-day backpacking trips for adolescents in Olympic National Park. Some of the deepest, most knowledgeable, and passionate people I’ve known have been involved with this group. The work we do taking kids on trips into the backcountry leaves every single person involved more connected and intentional. Through changes in leadership, transportation woes, and funding cuts for outdoor education, Wild Society has fallen on very hard financial times. As we face the stark possibility of closing down our program, we are making one last effort to call on our community for some extra help to close our funding gaps and scale back our operations to decide what’s next. We are uncertain of what will come of this push, and are calling this goal “Operation Glimmer of Hope”. We know there are countless worthy places to put your money and energy, and we would deeply appreciate any you could spare towards making our Glimmer of Hope a reality. Even sharing with your personal ecosystem helps us reach more willing folks. Thank you so much for considering!
