We’re asking for help to support the Whitten family during one of the most important and vulnerable times in their lives. As they prepare to welcome their new baby, Kaden will be undergoing a scheduled C-section, which means a difficult recovery and the need for extra care and support at home. Cameron wants nothing more than to be there for his partner, for their newborn, and for their soon-to-be 4-year-old Remi—but unfortunately, Kia does not provide paid leave for fathers. With only 13 days of PTO for the entire year, his time is extremely limited. Although FMLA has been approved for up to 6 weeks, it is completely unpaid, and he was denied Family Leave Insurance. Like most families, they simply cannot afford to go without income during that time.
They are hoping to give themselves just 2–3 weeks time to heal, to bond, and to adjust as a family of four without the immediate pressure of financial stress. Those first few weeks are everything, especially after a C-section, and having Cameron home would make all the difference in the world. This fundraiser is to help cover lost wages, bills, and everyday necessities so they can focus on what matters most: bringing their baby into the world safely and supporting Cameron through recovery.
If you’re able to give, even a small amount, it would mean more than you know. And if you can’t, sharing this could help reach someone who can. Thank you for helping this family get the time they deserve together. I am their coworker and best friend, and I know firsthand how much your support will mean to them.
