Help us come alongside the Werkheisers after their tragic loss of Tyler

The most shocking news any parents could receive is the sudden and tragic death of a child. But bringing that news to a family who is already struggling day-to-day with the realities of severely advanced M.S. makes it even more devastating. On Saturday evening, August 17, officers arrived at the home of Andy & Susie Werkheiser to report that their youngest son Tyler had been in a fatal motorcycle accident and died on the scene.

After Tyler graduated from high school in 2023, he was working and living at home with Andy & Susie; so he played a big role in his mom’s care. His loving, patient, happy, and considerate presence has been such a comfort.

Tyler recently taught himself to play the keyboard, and he became quite proficient at watching video tutorials and then learning to play the songs. He also enjoyed hanging out with friends that he has known since childhood. Andy, Mason, & Tyler were inseparable…giving of their time to community projects like placing wreaths at Fort Snelling, going to church together on Sundays, taking family vacations & traveling to visit grandparents, and most recently adventuring together on a trip to Alaska after Tyler’s graduation.

Tyler’s passing will leave an inexpressible void in their home. We would love to support them in their sorrow and help alleviate the burden of Tyler’s funeral expenses in light of all the other burdens the Werkheiser family carries every day. Our goal is $10,000, and we are grateful for your help.
