Hello,
We're the Wendt family. We could really use some help if you can spare it. My family moved down to Texas in 2023 because the house we were renting in Massachusetts was sold. This was the home my children started their lives in.
Luckily, I (the father) had received a great job offer in Austin just in the nick of time. So I moved my pregnant (at the time) wife, our three children, three dogs and four cats all the way across the country. It was our only option.
When we got here, we succeeded at signing the papers to purchase our first house, and I started my new role. Unfortunately, working for an at-will employer, my position was eliminated, along with a mass exodus from my colleagues.
Try as I might, I have not been able to find consistent work here in Texas since then. I've put in over two thousand applications in the last year.
I am one of thousands looking for employment in Texas, and I have few connections in this part of the country.
I did what I had to do to provide for my family. I took side work whenever possible. I scaled back on expenses. I pawned almost everything I personally own to make sure the lights stayed on and my kids wouldn't go hungry. It has been a rough year!
Fast forward to a month or so ago, I started receiving job offers like there was no tomorrow! I can't seem to keep up with the interested parties who are vying for my professional experience! The only problem is, they are roles based back in the NorthEast of the country. I do not have enough money to get there with my family, and I've run out of things to sell.
I can't tell you how frustrating it is, but I'm sure you could imagine!
$20,000.00 would allow us to register, repair and insure our travel trailer and transport, pay my debts here in Texas, and make the journey back to the Northeast in order to start working again. As some of you know, we have 4 small children (Arya~7, Amelia ~5, Henry ~3, and Heather ~11 months) so most of the funds will be going towards campsite rentals, food, water, and gas, in an effort to make the journey as painless as possible for them.
It is a great amount of money, especially in this economy, but every little bit helps! If you are able, please donate whatever you can. If you can't help monetarily, please consider sharing this link with your friends and family.
I wish good health upon you all, and your kinfolk! We appreciate you!
