Hello, my name is Leonie and I would like to share the story of the Walia family, who have played a significant role in our community. I first came to know them in 2019 when my son and their daughter were members of the same middle school band. I was actively involved in volunteering for the band, and the Walia family would support our efforts by offering discounts for our restaurant night fundraisers at their authentic Indian restaurant located in Thousand Oaks. Even during the pandemic, when business had slowed for them, their generosity towards the band never wavered.

Tragically, Tejbir, the patriarch of this beautiful family, recently passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind his wife, son, and daughter. They have no immediate family who live nearby as the majority of their family live in India. They will have to sell the restaurant, their source of income, as Tejbir was the one who ran it. As they cope with this overwhelming situation, the last thing they should have to worry about is financial stability. To support them during this transition, we aim to raise $15,000 to assist with their living expenses. Your generosity can make a significant difference as they work through this challenging time.
