WHO WE ARE

Team Pachedu is a non-profit group of volunteers whose raison d'être is to safeguard democracy and foster public sector transparency and accountability in Zimbabwe. The team was formed in July 2018 following the prevalence of irregularities which threatened the integrity of 2018 elections. Our earliest successes included the comprehensive audit of the 2018 voters roll and our role in the unprecedented overturning of the 30 July 2018 presidential election results by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission - three times - in response to the gross vote tally inaccuracies which were unearthed by our auditors. We have remained active ever since focusing on electoral oversight and public accountability.

WHY WE NEED SUPPORT

As Zimbabwe draws closer to the harmonized elections in August, Team Pachedu has embarked on the first phase of the Vote Protection Project and we are working hard creating systems and setting up the essential infrastructure and mechanisms that will enhance our electoral oversight. These efforts will also facilitate real-time data-driven decision making and timely interventions to emerging electoral discrepancies and malpractices. However, this initiative is more resource-consuming beyond our current means and has increased pressure on our already diminishing operating budget.
