Support the Team who helped me in my hour of need
As most of you are aware during my recent holiday to Wales I had a ‘little fall’ at the top of Dyserth Waterfall in Wales (which is beautiful if anyone gets chance to visit)
Even though initially we did try it was soon evident that we were going to need some help in getting me back down the Mountain (okay hill, but it seriously felt like a mountain at the time). So we ended up having to call the local mountain rescue team via the police.
OMG this team is absolutely incredible. I cannot explain how amazing the whole team were in helping me that day. One of the members lived in the village and was quickly on site and soon organised the rest of the team who came from all over North East Wales.
As you know I’m a massive believer in volunteering and think everyone should do a little, however this team are something else. The amount of skill it took getting me off that ‘Mountain’ must take years of training and dedication. All of which is unpaid!
Everything this team relies upon is paid for by donations. This to me seems incredible as without their help that day I’d still be stuck up there. So this is where I’m pleading for your help!!
The Team lead on the day was a gentleman called Pouch who helped keep me calm and collected (okay, just calm) whilst ensuring Martin was okay and organising the Team, talk about multi tasking! I remember talking to him at the time about equipment and their expertise and also about how they were needing a new leg splint that would cost £600. So this is my aim!
If I was able I’d buy them a hundred leg splints (helicopters, more ropes etc) but unfortunately I’m not. So please please please could you help me reach this target. If everyone on my friends list each pays £1 we’d make it!
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for considering a donation to such an important cause. I am proof of how invaluable their work is, and I know any help you can offer will make a huge difference.
Love you all,
