Support The Sylas Project for Water Safety

Tax deductible
It was a very early morning on May 8th, 2020 when our 14-month-old son, Sylas, crawled through a small dog door in just seconds and found his way to our backyard pool. We kept running around the house trying to find him, without luck. It was not until I heard my husband's horrific scream when he pulled him out of the water that I realized what had happened.

I was shaking so much, asking God to take me instead. Paramedics took Sylas to the nearest hospital where we spent 2 weeks praying for a miracle. But God had other plans for Sylas.

During my son's hospital stay is when I started The Sylas Project. A non-profit started in honor of my baby. I felt like I needed to help raise awareness on water safety and everything I wish I would have known to prevent this traumatic experience from happening to other families. It wasn’t until we lost our beautiful baby that I learned that drowning is the leading cause of accidental death in children ages 1-4.

Since then, we’ve been able to start a survival swim scholarship program where 100% of funds goes directly back to help low-income families afford quality survival swim lessons. These lessons are typically ~6 weeks in length and guarantee that children between 6 months and 6 years know how to find air independently.

I need your help to keep our survival swim program going so we can help more families around the world. 100% of donations go back to this program. This 25th of May marks the 4th year since he went to heaven. Please help me honor my son so we can keep this project going.

Thank you so much,
-Sylas’ mom
