Support the Sue Slavik Memorial Scholarship Fund: For nearly three decades, Sue was more than a swim coach—she was a mentor, advocate, and guiding light for hundreds of young athletes across Mercer and Auglaize counties. Through her leadership with the Coldwater Cudas, Celina Bulldogs, AMFY Waves, and Lake Front Raquet Club, she not only taught technique and endurance—she instilled confidence, discipline, and heart. Sue was the kind of coach who saw potential where others didn’t. She cheered the loudest, challenged her swimmers to rise, and never settled for less than their best. Her impact rippled far beyond the pool.
Now, it’s our turn to carry that legacy forward.
Our Mission
We are launching the Sue Slavik Memorial Scholarship Fund to celebrate Sue’s life and continue her work by supporting the next generation of student-athletes. This scholarship will be awarded annually to graduating seniors who swam for:
- The Coldwater Cudas
- The Celina Dolphins
- The AMFY Waves
The annual scholarship will recognize a student who embodies the values Sue championed: dedication, perseverance, and love for the sport.
Our Goal
To officially establish this fund through the Mercer County Civic Foundation, we are raising $25,000. Thanks to generous matching donors, all contributions up to $10,000 will be doubled—meaning your gift goes twice as far. Together, we can reach the $25,000 needed to create a permanent, sustainable scholarship in Sue’s name.
