Staff & employees at Talking Headz Salon are currently on strike in response to a recent situation that has left them with no other option. This has caused division between stylists and it should be noted that they would not like to see clients cancelling appointments with the remaining stylists.

***Please go see your beloved stylists who have stayed behind for your services! They receive a percentage of what you pay directly and they deserve their money!***

Following the abrupt resignation of their manager and after a legally recorded meeting with the owner that didn't go as they'd hoped, employees agreed to walk out. Now, they are left with concerns about their ability to work, retain their professional dignity and their rights as workers.

While they are not attempting to close the doors at the salon they all love, they found themselves receiving messages from clients with information from the owner that was confusing and possibly damaging to their reputation as professionals, so they decided to go public with their strike.

The salon’s owner has been scrubbing Instagram of their work, locking some of them out of their schedules, cancelling future appointments and making it impossible for them to reach out to clients personally, etc. They believe some of this could be illegal forms of retaliation, and they are worried about unlawful termination.

The owner has also threatened legal action and they may need to prepare to defend themselves.

The funds raised here will go directly to the staff and stylists who have decided to strike. The money will be used to help them cover their bare minimum living expenses, including rent, bills, etc. They also want to set aside a portion of the funds for legal services should they need to.

They are grateful for every bit of help. Whether it’s a financial donation or sharing their story, every act of solidarity helps.

Thank you for supporting them in taking a stand for their jobs, Biggie, clients and for the basic needs of a salon. They will continue to push to be heard over being cast aside, despite being met with all of the aforementioned concerns and with aggression from friends and family of the owner.
