Support The Strand: A Community Effort

My name is Tara Griffith. I live in Shelbyville and I'm here to ask for help for a local Shelbyville treasure, The Strand Theatre. Due to circumstances beyond their control, The Stand will be temporarily closing down. The adjoining building will be torn down soon, and since the two share the same structure, The Strand's insurance company dropped their coverage. The venue cannot continue to operate without insurance.

The Strand is completely volunteer-run, and they pay all of the operating costs from ticket sales, never asking for outside support. But now they need us. Please donate what you can and share so that once this unfortunate situation is resolved, we can go back to seeing great bands, enjoying our favorite movies, and eating too much of the best popcorn in town.
