Help Build Herb a Safe Home – Honoring Marilyn’s Final Wish
The Stevens family has faced heartbreak and hardship that no family should have to endure.
Not once, but twice, their home was struck by vehicles, leaving it unsafe and without running water. As if that wasn’t enough, this past May, Marilyn—Herb’s beloved wife—passed away. Before she left this world, her final wish was simple yet powerful: “Please build my husband a safe home.”
Today, Herb is living in a 12x12 shed, clinging to hope while we work to honor Marilyn’s wish and rebuild a safe, healthy home for him.
We originally set a goal of $40,000, but after uncovering more damage, including the need for a new foundation, septic system, and well, the true cost is much higher. We now need to raise $38,000 more to complete the build before winter arrives.
Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward rebuilding Herb’s home—from the ground up—so he can have running water, warmth, and safety again.
This is not just about a house. It’s about restoring hope, dignity, and stability to a man who has already lost so much. It’s about keeping Marilyn’s final wish alive and showing Herb that he is not alone.
