On Sunday morning, December 7th, the Steck family was involved in a tragic car accident on their way to church- taking the lives of both parents, Jeremiah and Erin. Their three precious children survived the accident with multiple injuries.

Eric (10) broke both femurs and was airlifted from the hospital. He had surgery to repair his legs.

Lydia (8) suffered several broken bones.

Levi (6) sustained a broken back and was airlifted at the scene and underwent surgery. He is a medically complex child who now faces even more medical challenges ahead.

This heartbreaking loss has shocked the family, friends and the entire community. There are no words deep enough to capture the sorrow of losing two loving parents so suddenly. Our hearts are broken, yet we hold tightly to the hope of Christ. We rejoice knowing that Jeremiah and Erin are in His presence, even as we grieve their presence here. They loved deeply, gave generously and walked faithfully.

As the family navigates the road ahead, the needs are immense. Many have asked how they can help. This fund exists as a way for the community to come alongside the children and the extended family who are stepping in to care for them.

The funds will be used to support the children’s immediate and long-term needs, including:

    •    Transitioning the children into the care of family members who are opening their homes and their lives.

    •     Home modifications to create wheelchair-accessible spaces for Levi and accommodate his long-term mobility needs, as well as Eric as he heals from his leg injuries.

    •    Long-term care for Levi, whose medical challenges are lifelong and complex.

    •   Transportation (wheelchair accessible vehicle), caregiving support and other practical needs to help the family provide a stable, nurturing environment.

• Ongoing medical expenses, therapies and adaptive equipment for all three children.

    •    Education expenses and future needs as the children continue to grow and heal.

A dedicated account will be established solely for the children’s benefit. All funds will be overseen by their appointed legal guardians with full transparency and stewardship.
