Our Story:

“My name is Nate Spurrier. I was born with cystic fibrosis and diagnosed at birth — two days after coming home I was rushed back to the hospital because I couldn’t breathe. I grew up in and out of hospitals and have followed a strict regimen of breathing treatments, chest therapy, and daily medications. I could describe the many ways CF has affected my life over the past 26 years, but the main reason I’m sharing this is that my wife, Chelsea, and I hope to have children one day.

Because CF affects so many parts of my body, I cannot conceive naturally. The thick mucus caused by CF clogs my airways, sinuses, pancreas, and digestive system and creates complications throughout my body. Chelsea and I have been married nearly four years and have never prevented pregnancy; a year ago I was tested to see if natural conception was possible, and the results were disappointing.

Our best option is IVF. After research and prayer, we feel this is the path we want to pursue. One round of IVF typically costs $17,000–$25,000. We are asking for $12,000 and will cover the remainder ourselves. We are excited to begin this journey and trust that God will guide us in the years ahead.
